Closing tax loopholes for tobacco companies will generate new federal revenue, reduce public spending on health care, and reduce tobacco product usage, specifically among young Americans and children.

WASHINGTON – Today, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure passed Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi’s (D-IL) H.R. 1182, the Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety and Oversight Improvement Act, by unanimous voice vote. The legislation, introduced by Congressman Krishnamoorthi and Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH), instructs the Transportation Secretary to enact regulations that ensure compressed gas cylinders produced by foreign manufacturers meet U.S. Department of Transportation safety standards and specifications.
