WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young regarding the need for a more fully funded and equipped Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help offset the costs of President Biden's historic legislative agenda. These Members of Congress were heartened to see more funding for the IRS provided in the President's initial proposal, but are determined to ensure that this funding is provided at adequate levels in the final package.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Tomorrow, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) and NASA robotics engineer Mr. Mieszko Salamon will hold a zoom fireside chat and take questions from area students. Rep. Krishnamoorthi, a former engineer who studied mechanical engineering at Princeton University, will ask Salamon, a former resident of the Chicago area, about his journey to NASA and his time working on the Perseverance Rover that landed on Mars in February 2021.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Under provisions in the American Rescue Plan that Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) championed, the Access Community Health Network received a grant of $31 million, the Greater Elgin Family Care Center received a grant of $12,260,000, and the Hamdard Center for Health & Human Services received a grant of $1,009,250. This package will help Americans across the country and here in Illinois' 8th district defeat the virus and recover from the economic impact it has exerted on our communities.

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (CA-18) introduced a resolution through the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the Securing Updated and Necessary Statutory Evaluations Timely or SUNSET rule, a measure finalized the day before President Biden's inauguration.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), and Rep. Schakowsky (D-IL) introduced the Shielding All Federal Employees and Consumers from Actionable Recall Situations Act, or the SAFE CARS Act. This bill would prohibit the federal government from selling vehicles with an open and actionable recall to the public and requires federal agencies that lease or own vehicles with an available recall to remedy the defect, which is a free process for the user.
