"President Trump is planning to unilaterally decertify the Iran Nuclear Agreement and effectively deliver a self-inflicted wound to our national security and standing abroad. WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a letter, led by Representatives Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Ruben Kihuen (NV-04) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), members of Congress are demanding the Trump administration terminate efforts to surveil and collect social media data on immigrants and American citizens.

A new proposal, set to go in effect on October 18, would impact immigrants, as well as all lawful permanent residents and naturalized American citizens including members of Congress like Jayapal, Kihuen, and Krishnamoorthi who were born outside the United States.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Yesterday, Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi and Jamie Raskin introduced legislation to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate and report on hate crimes. Specifically, the commission would be charged with determining if there had been a rise in hate crimes, the causes of that increase, and how to combat it. The 12-person panel would have one year to prepare its report and its members would be appointed by the House and Senate leadership of both parties with equal representation from the civil rights and law enforcement communities.
