CHICAGO – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) joined dozens of Illinois state and federal leaders, including Gov. JB Pritzker, Sen. Dick Durbin, and several members of the Illinois congressional delegation, as well as advocates, to showcase a united front and commitment to protecting Medicaid and health care in Illinois. More than 3.4 million Illinoisans, roughly 25 percent of the state’s population, depend on Medicaid for access to health care, including 1.4 million children.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) joined Reps. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Mike Carey (R-OH), and Val Hoyle (D-OR) in reintroducing the Leveraging and Energizing America’s Apprenticeship Programs (LEAP) Act. This bipartisan legislation would provide federal tax incentives up to $1,500 for small businesses that hire apprentices, expanding workforce development opportunities for the employees and providing them with critical hands-on work experience needed for a successful future.

WASHINGTON – Today, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure passed Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi’s (D-IL) H.R. 1182, the Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety and Oversight Improvement Act, by unanimous voice vote. The legislation, introduced by Congressman Krishnamoorthi and Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH), instructs the Transportation Secretary to enact regulations that ensure compressed gas cylinders produced by foreign manufacturers meet U.S. Department of Transportation safety standards and specifications.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi cosponsored the Legislative Enforcement Against Setbacks from Harmful DOGE Actions Act (LEASH DOGE Act), which would require the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to submit a public report to Congress listing all its employees and advisors. The bill would require DOGE employees to remove the veil of secrecy and identify themselves as well as mandate disclosure of the status of their background checks, clearances, and any conflicts of interest.
