SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement in response to a reportedly hate-motivated attack in Keyes, California last week in which white supremacists beat Surjit Malhi, a Sikh man, and spray-painted "Go Back to ur country" on his truck accompanied by a white supremacist symbol:

WHEATON, IL – Yesterday, at the DuPage County Board of health in Wheaton, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi held a roundtable discussion of the opioid epidemic focused on opioid addiction prevention strategies. The Congressman heard from local experts working to combat the epidemic from a range of fields including doctors, public health officials, educators, law enforcement officers, and addiction specialists as WGN's Pete McMurray hosted the roundtable.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the President signed into law H.R. 2353, the bipartisan Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act which was led by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Congressman Glenn ‘GT' Thompson (R-PA). The bill reauthorizes and modernizes the American career, technical, and vocational education system for the first time since 2006.

CHICAGO, IL – The Trump administration's ongoing policy of family separation and internment has led thousands of families to be held in detention facilities across the United States. Today, Congressman Krishnamoorthi visited such a facility today and he issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi of the Oversight Committee issued the following statement in response to the articles of impeachment filed against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein by Representatives Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) with 9 of their House Republican colleagues:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House passed H.R. 2353, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21^st Century Act. This legislation, led by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Congressman Glenn ‘GT' Thompson (R-PA), has now passed both the House and Senate unanimously, and will be sent to the President for signature into law. This legislation reauthorizes and modernizes the American career, technical, and vocational education system for the first time since 2006.

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 6147, an appropriations bill to fund the Department of the Interior, Environmental Protection Agency and other related agencies, which included an amendment coauthored by Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Steven Palazzo (R-MS). Previously, the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, under the Department of Treasury, received an additional $25 million dollars of funding, but the legislation did not direct how this funding should be spent.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Krishnamoorthi's Keeping Russian Entanglements Minimal and Limiting Intelligence Networks (KREMLIN) Act was included in Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer's Secure America from Russian Interference Act, an omnibus bill that lays out the steps necessary to secure America's elections, and counteract any interference from Russia and other foreign actors.
