WASHINGTON – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi announced today that many Illinoisans who receive veterans' benefits could expect Economic Impact Payments of up to $1,400 to hit their bank accounts beginning this week. Many Illinoisans have already received Economic Impact Payments as part of the American Rescue Plan that Congressman Krishnamoorthi helped pass.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi hailed the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act pay equity bill, which he cosponsored. The Paycheck Fairness Act would strengthen the Equal Pay Act of 1963 to help eliminate the gender wage gap by enhancing protections against retaliation, ending salary secrecy, increasing penalties for violations of equal pay provisions, and creating a grant program for training women in contract negotiation skills.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi voted in support of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1868, which would suspend Medicare sequestration, which reduces Medicare payments by a maximum of 2% annually, through the end of the year. In practice, this will avert $12.3 billion in Medicare cuts for providers.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young regarding the need for a more fully funded and equipped Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help offset the costs of President Biden's historic legislative agenda.
