WASHINGTON, DC – On the first day of the 119th Congress, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke at the Bipartisan Interfaith Prayer Service, where he read a passage from the Bhagavad-Gita. The purpose of the bipartisan service is to bless the new Congress before it is officially constituted for another two-year term.

Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) was sworn in as a Member of the United States House of Representatives for the 119th Congress by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). Sworn in for his first term in 2017, Congressman Krishnamoorthi now begins his fifth term representing Chicago’s western suburbs in parts of Cook, DuPage, and Kane counties.

EAST MOLINE, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) convened a roundtable discussion with state and local leaders to discuss the success and future of career and technical education (CTE). The discussion, held at the United Township Area Career Center, featured several elected officials and representatives of organized labor and education from within the Quad Cities and focused on how to grow CTE programs at post-secondary education facilities and institutions across Illinois.

BENSENVILLE, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) joined with Illinois Tollway Executive Director Cassaundra Rouse, Illinois Tollway Board Chairman Arnie Rivera, and local and state leaders in touring recent progress on the Elgin O’Hare Western Access (EOWA) project. The project, slated to be completed in 2027, will connect the Interstate-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) and Interstate-294 (Tri-State Tollway), significantly cutting travel time between the west side of Chicago O’Hare International Airport and U.S. Route 20 (Lake Street).
