ROSEMONT, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi presented the Village of Rosemont with $959,752 in federal community project funding he secured to upgrade the village’s sanitary sewer system. The funding, secured as part of the bipartisan government spending bill passed by Congress in March, will be used to enhance the Granville lift station. By upgrading the sanity sewer lift, the village will reduce the likelihood of sewer overflows, improving public health standards and safety throughout Rosemont and the surrounding communities.

Itasca, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the Itasca Fire Protection District with $2.5 million in federal community project funding he secured to construct a new fire station. The funding, secured as part of the bipartisan government spending bill passed by Congress in March, will go towards building the new station and will widen the reach of the Itasca Fire Protection District, improving public safety and cutting emergency response times.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Tony Cárdenas (D-CA) introduced the Baby Food Safety Act of 2024, legislation to set limits on dangerous heavy metals found in baby food, including lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic. The bill also empowers the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to set initial limits on these elements within a specified timeframe and mandate sampling and testing standards for food manufacturers.

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi’s legislation to rename the St. Charles East Side Station Post Office as the Veterans of the Vietnam War Memorial Post Office was signed into law by President Joe Biden. The legislation unanimously passed the House 390-0 in October and the Senate via unanimous consent in April.
