ROCKFORD, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) convened a roundtable on workforce development with Northern Illinois labor and education leaders at Rock Valley College Aviation Career Education Center. The discussion, which featured prominent leaders from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the Northwestern Illinois Building Trades Union, focused on how to use federal career and technical education (CTE) funding to ensure Illinoisans can succeed and grow the state’s economy.

ELGIN, IL – On Monday, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) awarded the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin (BGCE) with $1 million in federal community project funding he secured for the organization to make improvements to its Elgin Clubhouse. The improvements, which include greater safety and security features such as additional and updated security cameras and security doors with buzzers, will provide teens and at-risk youth with a safe and welcoming space.
