With Support of Congressman Krishnamoorthi Elk Grove Village Cares Secures Grant to Combat Opioid Addiction
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL – Last month, Elk Grove Village Cares secured a grant of $385,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to serve as a regional supply point for a drug that can reverse the fatal effects of opioid overdoses, naloxone. In order to provide additional training and support resources around naloxone, Elk Grove Village Cares will partner with the nonprofit group Live4Lali and the Kenneth Young Center, a mental health facility in the village.
“By securing this important grant, Elk Grove Village Cares will now be able to build upon their efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. I am proud my office was able to lend our support during the application process and I am glad Elk Grove Village Cares will now have the funding and resources they need to continue combating opioid addiction in our community.”
