Raja Denounces Republican Plan That Strips Millions of Working Families of Their Health Care and Hurts The Economy

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement in response to the newly announced House Republican health care plan:

"The Republican health care plan would strip millions of working families of their healthcare, cut benefits for millions of others, and increase costs for older Americans while hurting the economy. Republicans have had seven years to develop a plan to improve on the Affordable Care Act. Instead, they have hatched a poorly-conceived, special interest giveaway without even telling the American people how much their plan costs or how many millions of Americans will be impacted. This plan would defund Planned Parenthood, threaten to break state budgets, and cause middle-class families to lose their coverage or pay much more to get it. I am heartened that four Republican Senators have already rejected this economically destabilizing plan, and I will continue to defend the Affordable Care Act while fighting to improve it through real solutions."
