DuPage County Health Department Secures Nearly $1.2 Million Grant to Provide Opioid Treatment Options for Incarcerated People
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL – This week, DuPage County Health Department in partnership with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11), DuPage County Sheriff and the DuPage County Coroner, recently secured a federal Bureau of Justice grant for the State of Illinois. The grant would address opioid use and lack of treatment options for incarcerated people in DuPage County.
“Treatment of opioid dependence and addiction is a priority in DuPage County and the state of Illinois at large,” said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. “I am thrilled the DuPage County Health Department was successful in securing this important grant. No American should be forced to go without the medical assistance or addiction treatment they need. I am heartened that the DuPage County Health Department will now have the funding and resources required to adequately treat incarcerated patients and save lives.”
