Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Responds to the Anniversary of the Ethnic Cleansing of the Rohingya Community of Burma

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement in recognition of the anniversary of the ongoing ethnic cleansing the Burmese military is committing against the Rohingya:

"After over a year of this appalling humanitarian crisis, it is past time for the United States and the international community to come together to provide more aid to the Rohingya community and to hold those responsible to account. We need to enforce sanctions against the Burmese military, but our efforts to end this crisis, to support its victims, and punish its perpetrators must continue. Burma and its democracy will never thrive until the rights of all its people are protected."
