July 1, 2024

STREAMWOOD, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the Poplar Creek Public Library District with $1,666,279 in federal community project funding he secured for necessary building improvements needed at the Streamwood library location. The funding, secured by the Congressman as part of the government spending package passed by Congress in March, will be used to make a series of repairs and improvements to the library, including installing new carpeting, sealing exterior concrete, and replacing the rubber tiles in the children’s area. The project will make the library a more efficient and effective center for the community to conduct business, host meetings, and hold educational and family activities.

“Public libraries are centers of learning and community for all of us, and I am proud to have secured this federal funding to make the Poplar Creek Public Library District more accessible, efficient, and effective,” Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. “The new and improved library will be a game changer for the community here in Streamwood, and investing in these improvements now will ensure the library remains a place of learning and community for generations to come.”
