Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Presents Palatine Police Department with $50,000 in Federal Funding He Secured for New Electric Motorcycles

PALATINE, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the Palatine Police Department (PPD) with $50,000 in federal community project funding he secured for the department to purchase new electric motorcycles. The new vehicles will allow officers to travel to previously inaccessible areas of the village, such as trails, paved paths, and certain apartment complexes. The funding, secured by the congressman in March’s bipartisan government spending package, will greatly increase the PPD’s presence within Palatine, thereby deterring crime, building wider community trust, and keeping the village safer.
“To protect our communities, police officers need to be able to quickly reach everywhere the public does, including trails and paved paths,” Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. “That’s why I am proud to have secured funding for new electric motorcycles for the Palatine Police Department, which will provide another tool for officers while embracing the cost- and emission-saving benefits of green technology.”
