Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Presents City of Rolling Meadows with $810,000 in Federal Funding to Improve Storm Sewers Around Kimball Hill Elementary School

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented the City of Rolling Meadows with $810,000 in federal community project funding he secured to upgrade the storm sewer near Kimball Hill Elementary School. The funding, secured in the bipartisan government spending bill passed by Congress in March, will improve the sewers at the intersection of School Drive and Meadow Drive in front of the school and alleviate flooding in the area. The project will also increase pedestrian and vehicle safety and help slow road condition deterioration.
“The last thing a parent should have to worry about while dropping off or picking up their child from school is if the roads surrounding the building are flooded,” Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. “This funding will increase vehicle and pedestrian safety, address deteriorating road conditions, and allow parents to be confident that they can always reach their children, no matter the weather. Schools and the infrastructure around them should be accessible at all times, and the necessary repairs to the storm sewers will make that a reality for the people of Rolling Meadows.”
