Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Presents $975,000 in Federal Funding He Secured for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley’s Efforts to Build 13 Energy-Efficient, Low-Income Homes

ELGIN, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) presented Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley with $975,000 in federal community project funding he secured for the organization to construct 13 new single-family homes. The funding was secured in the bipartisan government spending bill passed by Congress in March. The housing, which will be energy-efficient and feature green appliances like solar panels, heavy recovery ventilation, and LED lighting, will be available for low-income families and build on the work done by Habitat for Humanity in the Northern Fox Valley.
“Owning a home is still out of reach for far too many Americans, and I was proud to secure $975,000 in federal funding to support the work being done to address that issue in our community by Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley,” Congressman Krishnamoorthi said. “Through this funding, more families will not only become homeowners, but their new homes will also minimize energy costs and environmental impacts through energy-efficient applications and construction techniques.”
