Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi: “House Republicans Are Attacking the FBI to Sabotage Special Counsel Mueller’s Investigation Apparently In Fear Of What He May Uncover About President Trump”

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi of the House Oversight Committee issued the following statement on continuing Republican attacks on the FBI.

"It's no coincidence that the some of the Republicans attacking the FBI now have been calling for Special Counsel Mueller's firing for months, even as Attorney General Sessions has dismissed the idea out of hand. While coordinating with the White House, these Representatives are attacking the FBI to sabotage Special Counsel Mueller's investigation apparently in fear of what he may uncover about President Trump's campaign. They've realized the President can't fire the Special Counsel so they're trying to discredit both him and the FBI to prevent the facts from coming to light. The decisions of House Republicans to re-open the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails is fundamentally an attempt to undercut the Mueller investigation, and we cannot allow them to distract Mueller from uncovering the truth."
