Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Hosts Roundtable with Local Leaders in Business, Education, and Government on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Future of the American Workforce
SCHAUMBURG, IL — Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi hosted a roundtable last week at IBM on the impact of artificial intelligence and the future of the American workforce. Participants from nearly 30 local businesses, higher education institutions, trade associations, and government agencies convened to discuss the opportunities and challenges imposed by the growth of artificial intelligence.
"The growth of artificial intelligence presents both challenges and opportunities for our economy in the decades ahead and it's imperative we prepare American workers with the skills and knowledge they'll need to thrive," said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. "I'm glad we were able to bring together leaders in business, education, and government to discuss the ways AI will shape our future and the ways we can come together to build an economy that works for everyone."
This event was held at the IBM office in Schaumburg, Illinois, just months after Congressman Krishnamoorthi introduced the bipartisan AI Jobs Act of 2018, legislation that requires the Department of Labor to analyze and report to Congress the impact of AI growth on workers and businesses across the country.
