Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Calls On CDC To Clarify Guidance Of Dangers Of Airborne COVID-19 Transmission

WASHINGTON, DC – In response to today's news of the CDC reversing its guidance for airborne transmission of coronavirus, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi of the Oversight Committee issued the following statement:

"In the wake of the recent examples of the Trump Administration politicizing CDC guidance and publishing materials over the objections of scientists, the CDC must clarify the nature of this reversal by releasing the findings of its scientists and experts to repair public confidence in its vital role in public health education. If the CDC again is seeking to silence its own experts, the public must know and if the CDC has in fact properly heeded and conveyed the recommendations of experts, it should inform the public so as to rebuild its damaged public reputation."
