Dear Attorney General Sessions:
The investigation into Russian interference in our national elections is a matter of the utmost importance to the American people. The integrity of this investigation has a direct impact on the integrity of our elections, and Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's work must be protected against tampering our efforts to conceal evidence from the public.
There is, unfortunately, a growing possibility that the White House will take steps to disrupt or dismantle this investigation and prevent the complete discovery of the facts about foreign interference in the 2016 election.
I respectfully request that you publicly commit that all evidence gathered by the Mueller investigation will not be destroyed, discarded, or altered in any way. Should the President fire Mr. Mueller, the Department of Justice must seal all of Mr. Mueller's records until they can be reviewed by Congress in a secure setting.
I respectfully ask that you plan for these eventualities and make your commitment to evidentiary integrity and transparency clear to all Americans. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Raja Krishnamoorthi
Member of Congress
