February 16, 2018

Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi and Republican Ralph Norman Pledge to Find Common Ground to Further Renewable Energy Sector

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D, IL-08) today announced the formation of a bipartisan Congressional Solar Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, co-founded by Congressman Ralph Norman (R, SC-05), which will serve as a unique forum for Members of Congress and the public to discuss high priority issues relating to the renewable energy and solar technology production sectors.

"The Solar Caucus will work on a bipartisan basis to find common ground to tackle issues facing solar business and communities," said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. "We will raise awareness for how policymakers, business leaders, and academic experts can work together to foster jobs, growth, and America's leadership in the solar industry."

"The solar industry is booming across the country, and is a major leader in economic growth and providing quality jobs," Congressman Norman noted. "We will focus on how the industry, as a whole, can continue to create jobs, increase investments, and strengthen American competitiveness."

As the former president of solar firm in the Chicago suburbs, Congressman Krishnamoorthi is the first Member of Congress to come from the solar industry. Congressman Norman joined his father's property and construction business right after college to help it grow into one of South Carolina's most successful commercial real estate developers.
