Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi: Ambassador Nikki Haley Was Right To Call For New Sanctions On Russia, And The Administration Was Wrong To Reverse Course And Criticize her

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi today issued the following statement in response to the White House's reversal from UN Ambassador Nikki Haley's call for additional sanctions on Russia and its subsequent criticism of her:

"Ambassador Haley was right to call for additional international sanctions on Russian companies that facilitated Bashar al-Assad's use of chemical weapons against the Syrian people, and I'm extremely disappointed to see the Administration reverse course from that policy while criticizing the Ambassador. President Trump may be upset that Ambassador Haley supports additional sanctions on Russia, but Ambassador Haley is right on this issue, and the President is not."
