Congressman Krishnamoorthi: “We Must Not Abandon Negotiations At A Time When The American People Need Help And Are Counting On Us”

October 6, 2020

SCHAUMBURG, IL – In response to today's news that President Trump has decided to end negotiations with Congress on a new COVID-19 relief bill until after the November election, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement:

"With more than 7 million cases and 200,000 deaths from COVID-19 in our country, this is not the time for politics to overshadow good governance. We need another bipartisan relief package that provides extended unemployment insurance, stimulus checks to struggling families, expanded coronavirus testing and treatment, and assistance to businesses, many of which are on the verge of collapse. We must not abandon negotiations at a time when the American people need help and are counting on us."
