Congressman Krishnamoorthi Urges His Illinois Republican Colleagues To Work With Governor Pritzker And Support HEROES Act Stimulus Package
WASHINGTON, DC – In response to their letter to congressional leaders earlier today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi urged his Republican colleagues to work with Governor Pritzker and support the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solution (HEROES) Act stimulus package:
“I’m disappointed that my Illinois Republican colleagues are choosing to attack Governor Pritzker instead of working collaboratively in Congress to provide local Illinois governments with critical resources, as well as strengthening existing loan programs so that more small businesses get the relief they need.
I would encourage my Republican colleagues to join with Members from both parties to vote in favor of the HEROES Act -- legislation that will support police officers, firefighters, and other first responders fighting on the frontlines against COVID. The HEROES Act will provide funding to state and local governments, as well as make fundamental changes to PPP loans so that small businesses can benefit from loan forgiveness to keep their businesses afloat. I urge my colleagues, both Democrats and Republicans, to stand up for working families and small businesses by voting YES on the House floor tonight.”
