Congressman Krishnamoorthi Strongly Supports Oversight Committee Investigation of Detestable CBP Facebook Group Posts

SCHAUMBURG- Yesterday, House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings announced the launch of an investigation into Customs and Border Control (CBP) and a Facebook group of CBP agents who have been reported to make offensive racist, sexist, and xenophobic comments about the death of migrants and asylum seekers. As a Member of the House Oversight Committee responsible for conducting this investigation, Congressman Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement:

"I am extremely concerned that numerous CBP personnel participated in a Facebook group that flagrantly violates CBP's Standards of Conduct," said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. "I look forward to working together with my colleagues on the House Oversight Committee to investigate this urgent matter, and of equal importance, ensure CBP is taking steps immediately to improve the harsh health and safety conditions for children and families at the border."
