SCHAUMBURG, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) issued the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans.

“Freezing federal grants and loans that Congress has approved is a blatantly unconstitutional power grab that abandons the fundamental commitments our country has made to critical services, including for our firefighters, police officers, hospitals, and seniors. President Trump’s illegal freeze will directly cut off funding for working families, making it more expensive to afford rent, a mortgage, groceries, or to see a doctor. I will use every tool at my disposal to restore funding for these critical services to protect Americans.”
