SCHAUMBURG, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) issued the following statement regarding a judge temporarily blocking President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze trillions of dollars in federal grants and loans:

“District Judge AliKhan made the right decision in temporarily blocking President Trump’s illegal and chaotic freeze of essential programs that Illinois families rely on. However, this ruling is only a brief reprieve from an unconstitutional disruption to funding for Medicaid, Head Start, disaster relief, veterans’ programs, and more. I urge President Trump to abandon his cruel action before Americans suffer the full consequences of his plan. If he refuses to abandon this effort, I will continue to fight every step of the way to protect the people of Illinois.”
