Congressman Krishnamoorthi Rejects GOP Attacks That Legal System, Justice Department Investigation are “Rigged” as President Trump Alleges

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi released the following statement in response to reports that President Trump has referred to the legal system and by implication the Justice Department investigation of his Administration as being "rigged":

"President Trump declared today that the legal system is ‘rigged' and has repeatedly called the Justice Department investigation into his Administration as being a ‘witch hunt.' These kinds of attacks by President Trump and House Republicans on the Justice Department are attacks on America and our rule of law. Any efforts to undermine the Justice Department are measures to sabotage a legal, valid inquiry regarding whether any laws were broken by the Trump campaign or Administration officials. We must stand up to this bullying effort to try to shut down an investigation that is critical to our democracy."
