Congressman Krishnamoorthi Joins President Biden at White House Celebration of Diwali

WASHINGTON – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi joined President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House today to celebrate Diwali. Diwali, also referred to as the ‘Festival of Lights' is a holiday that celebrates the triumph of good over evil.

"It was an honor to join the President and First Lady at today's White House celebration of Diwali," said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. "The spirit of Diwali reminds us that light always triumphs over darkness, and shows us the power of community in helping build towards a better future for us all. I am reminded of this common unity we all share here today at the White House, as we gather to celebrate the Festival of Lights. My hope is that the light that shines from the People's House extends to all those joining us in celebrating this holiday, as we strive to foster a more connected and compassionate world."
