Congressman Krishnamoorthi Joins Leaders from The Home Depot to Celebrate Passage of New Bipartisan, Pro-Consumer Energy Conservation Law

July 3, 2018

GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL – Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi was joined by The Home Depot's Regional Vice President Richard Goodrich and Tanya Triche Dawood from the Illinois Retail Merchants Association for a press conference on the passage of the Ceiling Fan Energy Conservation Harmonization Act. This new, bipartisan law streamlines energy conservation regulations for ceiling fans and ceiling fan lighting kits, ensuring they'll be implemented on the same date to the benefit of consumers, retailers, and our environment.

"I am proud to have partnered with both Democrats and Republicans on our legislation to streamline ceiling fan and lighting energy conservation while simplifying the process for consumers and retailers," said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. "Improving the energy efficiency of these products benefits all of us, but it's essential that we make the transition to this new, high-efficiency technology as straight-forward as possible, and that's exactly what this bipartisan, common sense law does.

"The Home Depot is proud to welcome Congressman Krishnamoorthi to celebrate the recent passage of Ceiling Fan Energy Conservation Harmonization Act, a new law that makes sense for our customers, suppliers and the environment," said Ron Jarvis, The Home Depot's VP of environmental innovation.
