Congressman Krishnamoorthi Calls For Strengthened Cyber Security Efforts And Exploration Of New Strategies
WASHINGTON – In today's hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform titled, "Cybersecurity for the New Frontier: Reforming the Federal Information Security Modernization Act," Congressman Krishnamoorthi highlighted the importance of embracing new strategies for protecting public and private systems from cyberattacks through hardening defenses and bolstering American deterrence with increased offensive cyber capabilities.
"Cyber-attacks from private and foreign adversaries continue to threaten our government and businesses, and it's essential that we continually work to strengthen our safeguards while implementing global best practices," said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. "Yet at the same time, we must also continue to expand our own offensive capabilities, while hoping their use will never be needed, in order to provide a clear deterrent against any who would threaten the security of our government and economy."
