Congressman Krishnamoorthi Announced As Winner of Inaugural MerITocracy Award For Meaningful Contributions to Innovation in Technology And Policy
WASHINGTON – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi was announced last week as a winner of the inaugural MerITocracy Award, which recognizes policy leaders who are helping drive change in America around issues including education and workforce, global competitiveness, and privacy and security. Congressman Krishnamoorthi was recognized at MeriTalk's event MerITocracy: American Innovation Forum as a recipient of the award on July 21.
"It's an honor to be an inaugural recipient of the MerITocracy Award in recognition of my efforts to modernize and strengthen career and technical education," said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. "As the American economy continues to change by the day, it's essential that we ensure our education and workforce development programs keep pace. That's why I was proud to author the bipartisan Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act., which reformed career and technical education for the first time in more than a dozen years, and why I'm continuing to fight to expand workforce development programs through legislation including the Investing in American Workers Act, which would help small and mid-sized businesses make new investments in upskilling their workforces."
