Congressional Solar Caucus Co-Chair Raja Krishnamoorthi Hails Biden Plan To Produce Half Of All US Electricity From Solar Power By 2050

September 8, 2021

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Solar Caucus, issued the following statement in response to the Biden Administration's new plan to produce nearly half of the nation's electricity from solar sources by 2050:

"The Biden Administration's ambitions plan to produce half our nation's electricity from solar sources by 2050 is a major step forward for our efforts against climate change, our pursuit of energy independence, and our ongoing embrace of the economic potential of green technology. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Solar Caucus, I look forward to building upon our previous efforts to expand clean solar energy production through working with the Administration to meet its stated goals of doubling installed solar power every year for the next four while doubling it again by 2030. Solar power is essential to not only overcoming climate change, but also creating jobs and building the thriving economy of the future. I look forward to partnering with the Administration to ensure our nation mobilizes the full potential of solar technology."
