Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Statement on Escalating Risk of Famine in Gaza

WASHINGTON – In response to reports warning of an imminent famine in Gaza, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement: 

“International food security experts warn that nearly half a million Palestinians in Gaza face severe risk of famine, with more than a million more at emergency levels. The United States must act to ensure life-saving aid reaches those in need. I urge the Trump Administration to press for humanitarian access and work with partners to restore food, water, and medicine.

We must support Israel’s right to self-defense and the return of hostages — but also protect innocent civilians, especially children, from starvation. Preventing famine is a moral imperative now.”
