September 25, 2023

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – At their 21st Annual Gala,  Leyden Family Service and the Start Here Addiction Rehabilitation & Education (SHARE) Program honored Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi as their Person of the Year for his dedication to “improving the communities he serves,” including by securing federal funding for critical updates to the SHARE Program’s facilities. Leyden Family Service and Mental Health provides a range of counseling, treatment and preventative care services for adults, adolescents, senior citizens, children, and families. These services include treatment programs for those struggling with substance abuse, gambling addiction and other mental health problems. The SHARE Program is a not-for-profit alcohol and drug detox rehabilitation facility located in Hoffman Estates which also provides outpatient gambling services and has helped more than 40,000 clients since its founding in 1977. Last year, Congressman Krishnamoorthi secured $266,059 in federal funding to repair and update the SHARE Program’s facilities to improve the quality of care provided to the community members it serves.

“I want to thank Leyden Family Service and the SHARE Program for this honor and the work they do every day to help provide our region with the mental health support it needs,” said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. “As our nation works to overcome the opioid epidemic and a range of other mental wellness challenges, I am proud to work with Leyden Family Service and Mental Health and the SHARE Program to serve the needs of our community members.”
